Biographical Notes

Member of the prize crew that took the captured French Vichy vessel Ville de Rouen to Cape Town in July/August 1941. On return to Freetown on the carrier Albatross he and the prize crew took over another Vichy vessel, the Gascon, taking it to Freetown where Philip and the rest of the prize crew were able to meet up with Dunedin again in late October.
