Dunedin Society Reunion, 16th July 2006 National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) Programme 1100: Arrival/registration in conference hall, NMA optional: attendance at daily (ten minute) NMA remembrance service for lost souls since World War I 1145: Dunedin Society Presentations plus Q&A with survivors/veterans in conference hall 1245: Lunch (available to be bought in NMA café or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunches) 1400: Wreath-laying service at Dunedin Memorial in the grounds of the NMA - five minute walk from conference hall (please feel free to bring your own wreathes for the service) 1445: Return to conference hall for further discussions/questions 1530: Wrap-up and disperse (The NMA remains open until 5.00pm for those who wish to stay a little longer)

The Welcome We gather here today at this Memorial in lasting memory of those who served in HMS Dunedin, especially those who lost their lives on active service. Let us remember the families and friends of those who served in her and had to bear the loss of their loved ones. Let recall the deed and example of those who have been instrumental in guarding our nation. In their name we dedicate ourselves to their noble cause. Reverently and gratefully, we will remember them. All: We will remember them. Prayers The Naval Prayer All: O’Eternal Lord God, who alone spreadest out the heavens and rulest the raging of the sea; who hast compassed the waters with bounds until the day and night come to an end: Be pleased to receive into thy almighty and most gracious protection the persons of us thy servants and the Fleet in which we served. Preserve them from the dangers of the sea and of the air and from the violence of the enemy; That they may be a safeguard unto our most gracious Sovereign Lady, Queen Elizabeth, and her Dominions, and that the security for such as pass on the seas upon their lawful occasions; and that the inhabitants of our Island and Commonwealth may in peace and quietness serve thee our God; and that they may return in safety to enjoy the blessings of this land, with the fruits of their labour and with a thankful remembrance of thy mercies to praise and glorify thy Holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Act of Remembrance Before we depart let us remember before God, and commend to his sure keeping, those who have died for their country in war and peace; those whom we knew, those precious memories we treasure, and all who lived and died in the service of their country and mankind. Amen. We will Remember them.
