In memory of HMS Dunedin and her Men

Trafalgar Day , Melbourne, Australia, 1932

I am grateful to Anne Randall who sent me these cuttings in January 2009. Anne is the little girl in the hat, with her Father, Lieutenant-Commander Sowdon. She told me that, in the picture below, she is not sure whether she is trying to keep her hat on or whether she is saluting!

Trafalgar Day is no longer marked in such a way in Australia, of course, but it’s good to see how it used to be done.
