Albert Edward Forster, Able Seaman (RNVR), C/TD/X 2135, was born on May 17th, 1915 in Felling, Gateshead, Co. Durham. He was the son of John Wallace Forster, described as a waterman, and his wife Hannah, née Maddigan. Albert’s uncle, after whom Albert was named, served in the Royal Navy from 1892 to 1919. Albert married Ellen Burns in 1936. They had no children and were living in Finsbury Park, London when he died.
One of Albert’s brothers was killed in North Africa in 1942, and another died in Sicily in 1943.
