Henry Charles Holloway, Stoker Petty Officer (P/K 66207), was born in Bishop Waltham, Hampshire on December 26th 1904. He was the son of Henry George Holloway, a gardener, who died when his son was eighteen months old, and his wife Emily Jane, née Johnson.
He was described as a gardener when he signed a 12-year period of engagement beginning on May 18th 1925. He served on HMS Hood from 1936 to 1939, joining HMS Dunedin on January 4th 1940.
