George Cooper, Stoker (P/SS 120223), was born in Wood Green, London on April 19th 1900. He was the son of John Cooper, who died in 1901, and Elizabeth, his wife. Elizabeth re-married in 1905.
George served in the Royal Navy from 1918 to 1923 and re-entered in 1939. He joined HMS Dunedin on August 23rd 1939.
In 1925, George married Alice Hester Hinson, with whom he had a daughter.
