John Frederick Campbell De Guerin, Able Seaman (P/JX 158243), was born in St Martins, Guernsey on April 26th 1923, the second son of Basil Campbell De Guerin, a representative of an animal food company, who served in the Royal Field Artillery during the First World War, and his wife Catherine De Guerin, née Westley-Newton.
