Peter Green Harper, Able Seaman R.N.V.R. (P/ESD/X 1437), was born in Edinburgh on March 15th 1917 in Edinburgh, the son of Peter Green Harper, a coal carter, and his wife Catherine, née Manderson. In 1940, Peter married Jessie Harcus, with whom he had two children.
