Midshipman Wilson was reported to have been on the bridge (by Geoffrey Milner to Monica Sowdon in 1942) when the torpedoes hit. He appeared to be uninjured and left the bridge with everyone else, but was not heard of again. It seems unlikely that he made it to the rafts.
