H Cross

Biographical  Notes

Joined in 1939 in Scotland (as Boy) from Boys Training Ship Vincent. Served on Northern Patrol, in Caribbean and Atlantic. Harry spent the first night after the sinking adrift on a piece of furniture, before joining the raft on which another survivor, Jim Davis, was sitting. See also Rafts and Rescue.

Harry died in March 2003. Harry was the second survivor known to the Dunedin Society after he responded to an ad in Saga magazine. Until his death, Harry was a staunch and loyal supporter of the Dunedin Society, attending many of our reunions. He is sadly missed.
